About James Jackson

I'm James, I Speak Millennial. Let me help you do the same.
I love bridging the gap between generations. Why? Because some of my most treasured relationships are with those who are ahead of me in life and business. I've also been fortunate enough to work with humble leaders who value the drive, energy and fresh perspective I bring because of my youth.
I believe the place we work and spend much of our lives should be an environment of understanding and respect.
The best work happens, not when everyone is the same, but where everyone is headed toward the same goal.

My Journey: From Football Player to Millennial Whisperer

I love helping executives and managers love the millennials they lead.
As a football player, I was surrounded by coaches who were from a different generation than me. Thankfully, I was around some great ones.

Playing college football was a dream come true. I knew it was my only shot at getting a college education. What I didn't realize, was the impact the game would have on my future. That impact happened off the field.

Through our mentorship program, I met several key business leaders who poured into me. They spotted my passion to connect with others and put me in positions to rub shoulders with their executives. Soon, I became the unofficial 'go-between' for younger employees and their managers. I had a knack for hearing their concerns, seeing their perspective, and translating that back to managers and the executive team.

I'll never forget the day when the COO sat back in his chair, looked at me and said, “You're like the millennial whisperer we desperately need around here. You speak millennial."

From that day forward, I knew what I wanted to do with my life.

Coaching as Calling

Helping bridge the gap between executives and their millennial workforce is more than a passion for me. It's a calling.

Until people feel understood and respected, it's impossible for them to give their best. Yes, every generation is different. They're motivated by different things, value different things, and expect different things out of life and work.

Without the ability to bridge those gaps, the workplace can go from “coworkers" to “cowarriors". Frustration and fighting leads to picking sides and dividing into camps of execs vs employees—the old guard vs the new crew.

My calling is to help executives leave behind the frustration and find meaningful ways to connect and lead their millennial workforce. Let me help you become fluent in “speaking millennial.”
